A 2019 iPhones with triple rear cameras. The design of the camera system is similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.. The iPhone XR successor is expected to come with dual cameras. Apple is expected to announce three new iPhones in 2019, two of which will be high-end iPhone XS and XS Max successors, while one will be an "affordable" iPhone XR sequel. iPhone XS Max will feature a triple camera setup, embracing the trend.

We have seen renders in the past of a 2019 iPhone with a triple camera setup in a square-shaped bump that looks similar to the Mate 20 Pro. This design has been once again shared in new renders by Japanese blog Mac Otakara, based information from Chinese suppliers. The report mentions that both the iPhone XS and XS Max successors will get a triple-lens camera.

In all the renders so far, the triple camera module is positioned on the top left corner with a noticeable square-shaped protrusion. On the Mate 20 Pro, the triple camera system is situated on the top centre. The report by Mac Otakara adds that Apple is readying official iPhone cases with a large hole on the back for the camera bump.

It was earlier reported by The Wall Street Journal that only the iPhone XS Max will feature a triple camera setup. Long-time Apple experts Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman have also backed the triple camera rumour, which means there is a very good chance that Apple is embracing the trend.

The iPhone XR successor will likely get upgraded to dual cameras, but will come with some downgrades to keep the price point lower compared to the high-end 2019 iPhones. Apple is expected to continue with the same 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch displays for its 2019 iPhones.
