Bollywood | Akshay Kumar is known as Canada Kumar. He is repeatedly trolled by saying this name. However, Akshay pays the highest tax every year. In the year 2019, Akshay was trolled that he has Canada citizenship and hence he did not vote during the Lok Sabha elections. The actor had also told that he also has Canadian citizenship because when his films were not working, he wanted to shift to Canada and work. Recently, during Koffee With Karan 7, when Karan asked Akshay what he trolls on, he said that people write about Canada, which does not matter to me.

Now talking to Lallantop, Akshay said, 'Years back my film was not doing well. Around 14-15 films didn't work so I felt that I would have to work somewhere else. A friend of mine who lives in Canada asked me to shift. Many people were shifting there for work and they were Indians. So I also felt that if luck is not supporting me then I have to do something. I went there and applied for citizenship and I got it.

Akshay told that after this he again changed his mind and came to try his luck again in India. He said, 'I have a passport and what is a passport. This is a document from which you go from one country to another. Look I am Indian, I pay all my taxes. I have a choice that I can pay there as well. But I have to do for my country. I work in my country. Many people say a lot. I would like to tell those people that I am an Indian and will always be an Indian.

Let us tell you that there is a lot of comment about Akshay's citizenship, but the actor has applied for an Indian passport. During the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Akshay had said, I have applied for an Indian passport. I am Indian and it hurts when I have to prove it again and again.
