New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to hold a meeting with the officials of Intelligence Bureau i.e. IB on Wednesday. It is reported that this meeting can go on throughout the day, in which there can be a big discussion on the security situation of the country, terrorist threats and coordination between central and state agencies. The special thing is that in September last, many agencies including NIA took major action against Popular Front of India (PFA), in which hundreds of activists and leaders were arrested.

According to news agency ANI, the meeting will take place between 11 am and 5 pm at a secret place in the city. Talking to the agency, a senior Home Ministry official said, "The Home Minister will discuss the entire security system, intelligence gathering network and other aspects to ensure strong internal security in the country."

what can be discussed

The ongoing threat of terrorism, global terrorist groups, funding to terrorism, narco terrorism, criminal nexus, misuse of cyberspace, activities of terrorist fighters can be discussed during the meeting. Many senior officials from across the country related to intelligence issues may attend the meeting. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and IB chief Tapan Deka will also attend the meeting.

Action on PFI

In September, several agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), launched a massive search operation, following which 106 PFI activists were arrested. PFI president OMA Salam was also arrested. He was accused of allegedly supporting terrorist activities. Officials had informed that NIA, Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED and police forces of the state had taken action simultaneously in 15 states. Even after this, the agencies took action and action was taken against more than 100 workers.
