The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 22.52 lakh for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family's personal tour to Jerusalem. BJP hit out on the YSRCP government, asking why the money was being used for CM's religious trip. Reddy along with his family is visiting Israel. The trip starts today.

He will be returning back on August 5 to Delhi and will stay here for two days, meeting union ministers. CM YS Jagan will again leave for America in mid-August.

An order was issued on July 26, 2019 for obtaining permission from the Ministry of External Affairs for Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Jerusalem from August 1 to 4, 2019. The visit was mentioned as a private program.

Another order was issued for security personnel for the above visit.

Another related order issued by the government clearly says "visit is purely personal and expenditure shall be borne by the dignitary".

Meanwhile, the BJP has asked, private trip or not, why the government of Andhra Pradesh paid 22.50 lakhs to the Israel firm for the purely private program of Reddy Garu and his family.

"Isn't it an unnecessary burden on exchequer?" said Lanka Dinakar of the opposition party.
