Entertainment / Bank accounts of accused in Kundra porn videos case frozen, had ₹6cr balance: Police

Mumbai: In the Raj Kundra pornography case, new angles and twists are emerging every moment. The case is opening up as days are passing by. Husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra was supposed to come out of jail today after being arrested on July 19, 2021. His judicial custody has now been extended till August 10, 2021.

The businessman got arrested for alleged production of pornographic content for his own app. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is not only Kundra’s wife but also his business partner, reportedly resigned from his company after his arrest.

The police interrogated Shilpa Shetty and are currently investigating several aspects to find out if there’s any link of the actress in the ongoing case. The officials did not find any link yet but Shilpa reportedly has not been given clean chit.

According to a report of ANI, “Pornography case | Shilpa Shetty hasn't been given clean chit yet. All possibilities/angles are being probed. Forensic auditors are appointed and they are looking into the transactions of all accounts in this case: Mumbai Crime Branch official”.

Another report reads, “Pornography case | Police suspects that Pradeep Bakshi (Raj Kundra's brother-in-law) was only used as a face but all functioning of Hotshots was looked after by Kundra himself. After his arrest, some other victims approached Police & gave statements: Mumbai Crime Branch official”.

A report of ANI also reveals that accused Yash Thakur’s bank account has also been freezed. “Accused Arvind Shrivastav alias Yash Thakur's bank accounts freezed with around Rs 6 cr balance in them. He has written to Mumbai Police, requested de-freezing of accounts but Police has asked him to first appear before it and join the investigation: Mumbai Crime Branch official”, reads the report.

Raj Kundra has been named as the key conspirator in the alleged pornography case by the Mumbai Police which has slapped charges against him under Sections 420, 34, 292 and 293 of the Indian Penal Code besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
