A video of children in Bihar claiming that they have been forced to eat frogs as there is no food available has gone viral on social media. The children were interviewed by a media portal. "The claim is false as inquired by Jehanabad DM, there is sufficient food in the homes of the children," the government said.

New Delhi: In a video made by the Hindi news platform Newsd, children from Jehanabad, Bihar have claimed that they have been eating frogs for four days as no grains are available in their homes because of the nationwide lockdown.

Subsequent to the publication of this story, the District Magistrate of the area has been quoted by the Press Information Bureau to say that there is sufficient food in their houses.

This story has been updated to include the District Magistrate’s refutation of the claim made by the children seen in the video.
