Hyderabad / Bride & groom's families throw chairs at each other at wedding; 3 injured

Three people sustained injuries after a heated argument escalated into a fight between a bride and groom’s family members during wedding celebrations in Telangana’s Suryapet district on 29 October, ANI reported.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

Shiva Ram Reddy, circle inspector, Kodad rural police station told ANI over the phone, "In October, the wedding was fixed between Ajay from Kodad Mandal of Suryapet district and Indraja from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. The marriage took place on 29 October. On the same day, during the celebrations, a heated argument took place between the bride and groom's family members over taking out the marriage procession in the village.”

He further said that the bride and groom’s family members attacked each other with chairs.

"Immediately after receiving the information we reached the spot and noticed that three persons received minor injuries from both sides. They were shifted to a local hospital for treatment and we asked them to lodge a complaint with the police,” the official added.

According to ANI, the official said that on Friday, 1 November, those three people came to the police station and informed that the couple are living together and do not have any issues. They further told the police that they had resolved the issues themselves and hence did not want to register any complaint.

In the video, several guests at the wedding can be seen getting into a scuffle, hurling chairs at each other inside a makeshift tent, ANI reported.
