About Sushant Singh Rajput, he was reportedly found hanging in his Mumbai apartment. However, no suicide note was found in the house. Farhan, Shraddha and Ayushmann Khurrana welcomes SC decision on equal property rights to daughters

By News Helpline, Mumbai - 13th August, 2020

The Supreme Court recently made a historic decision about the rights of daughters to property. It ruled that daughters would have equal coparcenaries rights in Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) properties despite whether or not the father coparcener has died before the amendment.

B-town celebs have taken to their social media handles to celebrate the verdict.

"In a landmark decision, Supreme Court ensures the unconditional right of a daughter to her parents property. It gives daughters inheritance right to the parental property by birth. A great day in the march for gender equality," Farhan Akhtar tweeted.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor posted a screenshot of the news on Instagram Stories and wrote: "About time! Equality."

Ayushmann Khurrana took to his Instagram stories to celebrate the decision. He wrote, ''The Supreme Court on Tuesday held that daughters, like sons, have an equal birthright to inherit ancestral property and the amendment to the Hindu Succession Act, 1956 will have retrospective effect. A big step, a necessary step and I welcome this verdict wholeheartedly''.

"The decision by the Apex Court of India is historic. It gives daughters inheritance right to the parental property by birth. So either son or daughter, both are deemed equal," veteran actor Shabana Azmi also tweeted about the judgment.

The apex court on Tuesday ruled that daughters have equal rights in the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) ancestral property. The court held that a daughter gets coparcenary rights in the property even if her father passed away prior to the amendment made to the Hindu Succession Act in 2005.

A bench, headed by Justice Arun Mishra and comprising Justices S. Abdul Nazeer and M.R. Shah, said: "The provisions contained in the substituted Section 6 of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956 confer status of coparcener on the daughter born before or after amendment in the same manner as son with same rights and liabilities."

Hrithik Roshan and Anurag Kashyap praise Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’

By News Helpline, Mumbai – 13th August, 2020

Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ released on Netflix on Wednesday. Celebrities like Hrithik Roshan and Anurag Kashyap have reviewed the film.

Simultaneously, netizens started trending actor Pankaj Tripathi on Twitter for his commendable performance and criticized Janhvi Kapoor for her acting.

Praising the film, actor Hrithik Roshan tweeted, “Just watched #GunjanSaxena . What a film . Cried my eyes out and laughed out loud . Entire team take a bow ! OUTSTANDING. 👏”

On the other hand, filmmaker and producer Anurag Kashyap praised debutant director Sharan Sharma, Kashyap wrote on his twitter account, “It’s so amazing and refreshing to see a “coming of age of the Indian armed forces” disguised as a war movie . No fake patriotism, no unnecessary jingoism ... well done team #GunjanSaxenaTheKargilGirl . Super performances, writing but what a brilliant new director #SharanSharma”.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has written to the Central Board of Film Certification complaining against its "undue negative portrayal" in the movie ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’.

The Air Force in its letter to the censor board, and sent to Netflix and Dharma Productions, has stated that as per initial understanding, "Dharma Productions had agreed to represent Indian Air Force (IAF) with authenticity and make all efforts to ensure that the film helps to inspire the next generation of IAF officers. "

However, when the trailer of the movie was released recently, it was observed that "certain scenes and dialogues in the movie and its trailer, which was forwarded to this office for viewing, have been found to portray the IAF in an undue negative light."

The story of the Dharma Productions movie is based on the first Indian Air Force woman pilot who was part of the 1999 Kargil war.

Ms Saxena, who is one of the first female pilots to fly in combat, played an important role in rescuing injured soldiers during the Kargil War and was awarded the gallantry Shaurya Vir Award for displaying courage during the war.

Directed by Sharan Saxena, 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' features Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza Mishra in pivotal roles.

‘Sadak 2’ trailer gets brutally trolled; gets whopping 4.6 million dislikes on YouTube

‘Sadak 2’ trailer gets brutally trolled; gets whopping 4.6 million dislikes on YouTube

By News Helpline, Mumbai – 13th August, 2020

The trailer of Sadak 2, starring Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, released on Wednesday morning and since it release, it has received millions 'dislikes' on YouTube - to be clear, dislikes and not likes.

The trailer of a big film, especially one which featured well-known actors, generally gets many more likes than it does dislikes; this has been reversed for ‘Sadak 2’ and it is unusual enough to be comment-worthy.

At the time of writing this, the trailer of ‘Sadak 2’ got more than 15 million views and it was trending number 1 on YouTube. But it has received 4.6 million dislikes and merely 260K likes on YouTube.

The Internet, it appears, is making good on its declared intention of boycotting ‘Sadak 2’.

Since the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, cries to boycott "star kids" have been louder than ever and their anger only amplified on Wednesday when a bulk of Singh "fans" headed to YouTube to express their feelings towards ‘Sadak 2’.

The film also marks Mahesh Bhatt's directorial return after two decades. The fact that ‘Sadak 2’ is directed by Mahesh Bhatt has also contributed to the surge of social media hate. Mr Bhatt is known to be close to actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is being questioned in the investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Rhea, who was dating Sushant, is accused by his family of illegally transferring money amounting to ₹ 15 crore from the actor's account and driving him to suicide.

‘Sadak 2’ is a sequel to 1991 hit ‘Sadak’, also directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring his daughter Pooja and Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt, who reprises his role as a driver named Ravi in the new film, announced a day before the trailer released that he was taking a break for medical treatment.

‘Sadak 2’, in which Alia Bhatt stars as a young woman working on exposing a godman, will release later this month on Disney+Hotstar. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Makarand Deshpande and Gulshan Grover.

On Monday, the hashtag #UninstallHotstar trended on Twitter as many netizens urged people to boycott the Bhatt family's project.
