China has blocked a proposal to nominate Pakistan-based terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki to the UN Security Council as Global Tanki. The 1267 Islamic State and Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee proposed to designate Makki as a terrorist. According to reports, China blocked this proposal at the last minute. Makki is a relative of Hafiz Saeed, the Lashkar-e-Taiba leader and the main conspirator of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.Who is Abdul Rehman Makki?Makki is one of the top leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The US has declared Makki a terrorist and has a $2 million bounty on him. Makki is famous for giving anti-India speeches in Pakistan.
