China | Chinese Defense Minister General Wei Feng has blamed India for the standoff in eastern Ladakh. He said that China does not have the responsibility for the standoff. Wei Fenge further said that China and India are neighbors and maintaining good relations serves the interests of both countries and both countries are working together for peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

According to a Global Times report, Wei said on Sunday that he had held talks with the Indian Defense Minister (Rajnath Singh) and made it clear that the responsibility does not lie with China. China and India are neighbors and maintaining good relations serves the interests of both countries.

India has been rejecting China's allegations

At the same time, India has been continuously rejecting China's allegations since the standoff began. India has been blaming China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) for this standoff, only after whose actions tensions arose between the two countries in East Ladakh. India has also been maintaining that peace along the LAC is important for the overall development of bilateral relations.

There is a deadlock since 5 May 2020

Troops of India and China have a standoff in eastern Ladakh since 5 May 2020, when violent clashes between the two sides began in the Pangong Lake area. China is also building bridges and roads and other infrastructure in India's border areas. India and China have so far held 15 rounds of military talks to resolve the Ladakh standoff. After talks, both sides had last year withdrew their forces from the north and south banks of Pangong Lake and the Gogra area. Due to the tension on the border, the bilateral relations between the two countries have reached a bad state.

Concern was expressed over the remarks of the US general

The military talks between the two countries so far have not found any concrete solution. Thousands of soldiers have been deployed from both sides. Not much progress was seen in the diplomatic talks of the last visit between the two countries on 31 May. Both the countries have agreed to convene the next meeting of military commanders at the earliest. Last week, China said it was concerned about Chinese build-up on the border with India following comments from top US General Charles A. Flynn.
