Coronavirus / Coronavirus cases in India cross 5,000; death toll reaches 149

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Wednesday that the number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 5,194. Meanwhile, 149 people have died due to coronavirus in the country. Out of the total cases, 4,643 cases are active, while 402 patients have been cured, discharged or migrated. The cases also include 70 foreign nationals.

New Delhi: The number of coronavirus cases in India crossed the 5,000-mark on Wednesday, with the total hitting 5,194 and death toll standing at 149, as per latest updates of the Union health ministry.

There are now 4,643 active cases across the country and 149 deaths. As many as 401 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated, the health ministry added.
