Gandhinagar Railway Station: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate India's first redeveloped railway station at Gandhinagar in Gujarat today (on Friday). Railway officials said that Gandhinagar railway station has many facilities of international standards, including the first 5-star hotel built on top of the railway track. Gandhinagar Railway Station has been developed with the luxury facilities like modern airports for the pleasant experience of the passengers.

This picture is of Gandhinagar railway station in the capital of Gujarat, which is competing with a five star hotel after redevelopment. Gandhinagar station has been completed and today (on Friday) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it.

The redevelopment work of Gandhinagar railway station started in 2017 four years ago today. This station has been developed on the lines of Railo-Polis. Railo-polis means a station where people can work, live and transport is also a part of it. Polis means city in Greek language.

Know that a luxury hotel has been built above the railway track in Gandhinagar station. It is spread over 7 thousand 400 meters square. About Rs 790 crore has been spent to make it. This luxury hotel has 318 rooms. A separate entrance has been made from the station to go to the hotel. The one who has to travel can directly go to the station and the one who has to go to the hotel, there is another way for him.

Gandhinagar Railway Station has 32 different theme lights, lifts, modern ticket counters and parking facilities. Gandhinagar railway station has got five star certificate. That is why it is being called the first five star railway station in the country. At present, work is going on at 123 more such railway stations across the country, on which Rs 50,000 crore will be spent.

Managing Director and CEO of Indian Railway Station Development Corporation, SK Lohia said that Gandhinagar station has an interfaith prayer hall, perhaps the first such place in any railway station. In addition there is an art gallery with LED wall display lounge, a baby feeding room and a double height lobby with a centralized AC waiting hall. The station is also handicapped friendly.
