Coronavirus | Two more cases of BA.5 variant of corona virus were reported in Maharashtra on Tuesday. The State Health Department has given this information. Both the patients are from Thane city and have got both doses of the vaccine. The department said that due to the recent infection, he was cured at home. One of them is a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man.

On 28 and 30 May, he came under the grip of corona virus. According to BJ Medical College, Pune, in the whole genome sequencing of recent samples in the state, BA.2 was the most prominent variant followed by BA.2.38, the health department said.

Rapidly increasing cases in Maharashtra

Significantly, between June 3 and June 13, corona cases in Maharashtra have increased by 241 percent. The number of corona cases has increased from 5,127 to 17480, that too in just 10 days.

There has been one death due to corona in Maharashtra on Tuesday as well and the mortality rate in the state is 1.86 percent. Out of this, 5980 cases were from Mumbai alone. Last month, 17 people died in the state.

12 people died in 12 days

From June 1 to June 12, 23,941 cases were reported in Maharashtra, out of which 14945 were from Mumbai. Between June 1 and 12, 12 people have died. Amid rising cases, medical experts said that most patients have mild symptoms and the mortality rate in this 'mild wave' is low. No worrying virus has also come to the fore.

So many cases came in India today

On Tuesday, 6,594 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in India and 6 people died. The number of patients under treatment is 0.12 percent of the total cases of infection, while the national rate of people recovering from Kovid-19 is 98.67 percent. In the last 24 hours, the number of patients under treatment for Kovid-19 has increased by 2,553 cases. According to the data, out of the 6 people who have lost their lives due to infection, two have died in Assam and one each in Goa, Maharashtra, Punjab and West Bengal.
