Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Monday that 9 of these cases are from Ratnagiri, 7 Jalgaon, 2 Mumbai, besides 1-1 from Sindhudurg, Thane and Palgarh districts. The Health Minister said that the state government has now decided to do genome sequencing and has started the process of taking 100 samples from each district. He said that since May 15, 7,500 samples have been taken in which there are about 21 cases of Delta Plus.

On the other hand, the Delta Plus variant has also knocked in the southern state of Kerala. At least three cases of the delta-plus variant have been reported from the samples collected from two districts - Palakkad and Pathanamthitta. Pathanamthitta District Magistrate Dr. Narasimhugari TL Reddy said that a four-year-old child from Kadapara panchayat in the district was found infected with the new delta-plus variant of the virus.

The first case of Delta Plus variant was reported from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. In the capital on Thursday, a 65-year-old woman was confirmed to be infected with the Delta Plus variant of the corona virus. In Madhya Pradesh, the pace of the second wave of the epidemic is slowing down and restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of infection are being relaxed.

At such a time, the administration has swelled with the entry of a new variant. According to officials, the woman's samples were taken on May 23 and the report received from NCDC on Wednesday confirmed her to be infected with the Delta Plus variant. At the same time, sources said that the woman has taken both the doses of Kovid-19 vaccine.

According to some reports, the highly contagious delta variant B.1.617.2 of Kovid-19, which was first found in India, is expected to be converted into a delta plus variant. The delta variant was first identified in India and has been instrumental in the spread of the infection for the second wave in the country and elsewhere, including the UK.
