Bihar | A shocking incident has come to light from Sasaram district of Bihar. The employees of Dehri Municipal Council, who performed the last rites of the Kovid positive school clerk here, stole the ATM card and withdrew money from the account of the deceased. This incident is from Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district of South West Bihar.

The matter came to light when the wife of the deceased found that money was withdrawn from the account after the death of her husband. After that he complained to the police. Abhimanyu Kumar, a clerk of DAV School located near Daryahat, died on April 30 due to covid-19 during treatment at Dehri Hospital. His body was cremated by the employees of Dehri Municipal Council following the Covid protocol.

Chhaya Devi, the wife of the deceased, found that Rs 1,06,500 had been withdrawn from her account after the death of her husband. On June 11, on the complaint of Chhaya, a case has been registered against unknown persons at Darihat police station under sections 420 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code.

Taking this matter on priority, Superintendent of Police Ashish Bharti constituted a special police team under the leadership of Dehri SDPO Sanjay Kumar to solve the matter. The police arrested Vishal Dom, a member of the Municipal Council crematorium.

Vishal confessed to stealing the ATM card present near the dead body and withdrawing money from the deceased's account before the funeral. He has also disclosed the names of his associates who are involved in the crime. SP Ashish Bharti said that the police team is conducting raids to arrest them and recover the money.
