Bihar | Cash worth crores has been recovered from the house of an executive engineer posted in the Rural Works Department of Bihar. The surveillance team raided the locations of Executive Engineer Sanjay Kumar Rai in Kishanganj and Patna on Saturday. During this, about Rs 5 crore in cash was recovered from the house. Apart from this, jewelry and other valuables are also likely to be found in huge quantities. Counting of notes continues.

The monitoring team has registered a case of disproportionate assets against corrupt engineer Sanjay Rai. On Saturday, raids were conducted at his two locations located in Kishanganj and Danapur in Patna. Sanjay Rai is posted in Kishanganj Division. Seeing such a large amount of notes from home, once the officers of the surveillance team were also shocked.

The amount recovered is said to be around Rs 5 crore. However, the exact amount will be known only after the complete counting of the notes. There are 14 surveillance officers at Sanjay Rai's residence in Kishanganj.

This raid was conducted under the leadership of DSP Arun Paswan. Cash has also been found with Khurram Sultan, the cashier of executive engineer Sanjay Rai, and personal engineer Om Prakash Yadav, whose counting is going on. The DSP said that a huge amount of cash has been found, counting is going on from the machine. So far more than 2 crores have been counted. The team simultaneously raided a rented house located at Ruidhasa and Line in Kishanganj city. A case was registered against the engineer a few days back.
