IND vs ENG | Danish Kaneria on Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya: Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has highly appreciated the partnership of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant in Manchester ODI. He linked this partnership with the partnership of Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif against England in the final of the NatWest Trophy in 2002. He has said that even 20 years ago, India was won by two youngsters in the same way.

Kaneria said on his YouTube channel, 'Rishabh Pant's innings reminded me of Yuvraj and Kaif's partnership in the NatWest Trophy final. There too the top order batsmen soon returned to the pavilion and after that the young players had won the team. Pandya and Pant made the same important partnership in this match. Both of them broke England's bowling attack.

In the ODI played in Manchester, the Indian team had got a target of 260 runs. In reply, the Indian team had lost its three wickets for 38 runs while chasing the target. By the time 72 runs came, the fourth wicket had also fallen. From here, Rishabh Pant (125) and Hardik Pandya (71) shared a 133-run partnership to show Team India the way to victory. When Team India was on 205, Hardik Pandya lost his wicket but Pant's bat kept going. Pant returned to the pavilion only after winning the match to Team India.

A similar situation had arisen in the final of the NatWest Trophy in England 20 years ago. Then Team India, chasing the target of 326 runs, lost 5 wickets for 146 runs. After this, Kaif and Yuvi shared 121 runs and gave hope to the team to win. India won this match in the last over.
