New Delhi : The opposition, which has been putting the government in the dock outside Parliament on all issues including the Corona epidemic, has failed to surround the government in Parliament. Even in the discussion on Corona in the Lok Sabha for about 12 hours, the opposition leaders did not have any such arguments so that the government could be surrounded. On the other hand, the leaders of the ruling party put the opposition in the dock and made it clear that till now all the efforts of the government in the epidemic have not only been successful, but have also become an example for the whole world.

The winter session of Parliament is more than half over, but the opposition has not been able to surround the government. After going through the bad experiences of the last monsoon session, the Lok Sabha is doing better in the winter session of Parliament. While the government is disposing of its legislative business, the opposition is also getting a chance to debate its issues. However, on the issues on which the opposition had prepared to surround the government before the session, it is not able to put the government in the dock. Be it the issue of Corona or the issue of inflation and Nagaland, the opposition leaders attacked the government, but they did not appear to be very effective. One reason for this is the tension between the Congress and the Trinamool Congress.

The way Mamta Banerjee expanded her presence in various states and included many Congress leaders in the Trinamool Congress, its effect is clearly visible on the opposition unity in Parliament. However, two weeks into the session, the opposition has also got ample opportunity to raise its issues. In these, the debate on the Corona issue went on for about 12 hours. All the veteran leaders of the opposition took part in this and they also raised many questions, but they could not unite and put the government in the dock.

Opposition weakened on Corona

In the discussion on Corona in the Lok Sabha on December 3, the government also gave ample opportunity to the opposition to raise the issue. The result was that only 96 MPs spoke on a serious topic like the Corona epidemic. However, even in these the questions of the opposition remained weak. During the discussion, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, referring to the warnings of scientists about Omicron after the delta variant of Corona, said that more care has to be taken in it. Choudhary alleged that the government spent too little on health research and vaccine production. The result of this is in front of everyone.

Mahua Moitra of Trinamool Congress said that the epidemic started as a festival in our place. When the government was to order vaccines, the Prime Minister encouraged all of us to gather outside, clap, and light candles. Saugata Roy started his talk with the 1962 India-China war. Said that even then we went to the battlefield without preparation and the situation is still the same today. MP Kalyan Banerjee questioned the vaccination figures. Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut raised the issue of privatization. Said that Corona has had a negative effect on Railways, LIC and 26 government companies as well.
