WTC Final | New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets in the final match of the ICC World Test Championship to capture the WTC title. Great cricket was seen between the Indian team and New Zealand, which was enjoyed by the whole world cricket. Despite the continuous interruption of rain, New Zealand managed to win the Test match on the day of Reserve Day. Meanwhile, the New Zealand cricket team took to its social media account to thank the Indian team for playing excellent cricket in the WTC final. Along with this, the Kiwi team has also wished India good luck for the Test series against England.

Sharing a photo of Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson together, the Blackcaps wrote, 'Thank you Indian cricket team for this wonderful test. Good luck for the England summer.' The Indian team had set a target of 139 runs in front of New Zealand in the fourth innings, which the Kiwi team achieved by losing just 2 wickets. Team captain Kane Williamson and experienced batsman Ross Taylor made an important contribution in winning the team by making an unbeaten partnership of 96 runs while batting excellently. Williamson remained not out on 52 and Taylor 47.

One of the Indian batsmen did not go in front of the fast bowlers of New Zealand and in the second innings, Team India was all out for just 170 runs. For the Kiwis, Tim Southee took four, Trent Boult three and Kyle Jamieson took two wickets. India had scored 217 runs in the first innings, in response to which New Zealand scored 249 runs to take a crucial lead of 32 runs. The Indian team has to play a five-match test series against England. The first match of the Test series will be played from August 4.
