New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh was admitted to Delhi’s AIIMS late on Sunday, 10 May, after he complained of uneasiness. He was admitted around 8:45 pm.

"Former PM and Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS for observation and investigation after he developed febrile reaction to a new medication. He's being investigated to rule out other causes of fever. He's stable and under care at the cardio-thoracic Centre of AIIMS," sources cited by ANI said on Monday.

A source cited by PTI had earlier said he was taken to the hospital after complaining of "uneasiness". "All his parameters are fine. He is under observation at AIIMS," the source added.

The 87-year-old leader, who was the prime minister during the two tenures of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government from 2004 to 2014, had undergone a successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS in 2009, the news agency further said.
