Google has announced that it will allow ads to reflect on the homepage of its mobile app later this year with an effort to accelerate its efforts to generate larger revenues. With this in perspective, the ads will be displayed on the "Discover" section of the homepage in the news feed layout and will be personalized algorithmically.

Prabhakar Raghavan, Senior Vice President, Ads and Commerce, Google wrote in a blog post on Tuesday, "Rolling out to all advertisers globally later this year, Discovery ads are a new way to reach people across Google properties in the moments when they're open to discovering your products and services".

The search-engine giant plans on placing ads with up to eight pictures in its search results as part of its "Gallery ads" feature.

Raghavan said, "By combining search intent with a more interactive visual format, gallery ads make it easier for you to communicate what your brand has to offer. We've found that, on average, ad groups including one or more gallery ad have up to 25 per cent more interactions-paid clicks or swipes-at the absolute top of the mobile Search results page".

The ads would also appear on the homepage of Google Shopping by which users will be able to personalize and filter based on their loved brands and features.

According to the web portal The Hill, Google's announcement comes aimed with concerns among the investors in Alphabet that is Google's parent company as companies like Amazon and Instagram were attracting a disproportionate number of online shoppers toward their platforms taking them away from Google.
