Actually, WhatsApp Payments is a UPI based service which was first launched in 2018 as part of beta testing. This feature was made available to all users in the country in November 2020. WhatsApp Payments has been developed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and provides a real-time payment system in partnership with over 227 banks.

This feature allows users to send and receive money instantly. It also facilitates them to check their bank account balance from the app. There are two ways to check bank account balance through WhatsApp. You can either check the balance from the Settings section on the app or check it from the payment screen while sending money.

To check bank balance on WhatsApp, follow these steps given below...

Step 1: Check your account balance from Settings:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your phone.

Step 2: If you have Android, tap on the More option. If you have an iPhone, tap on Settings.

Step 3: Now, tap on Payments.

Step 4: Under Payment method, tap on the respective bank account.

Step 5: Here, tap on View Account Balance and enter your UPI PIN.

Method 2: Check your account balance while sending money:

Step 1: From the payment message screen, tap on your available payment method.

Step 2: Tap on View Account Balance.

Step 3: If you have multiple bank accounts linked to your WhatsApp account, select the respective bank account.

Step 4: Enter your UPI PIN.
