Use Archive feature

The easiest way to hide personal chats on WhatsApp is to archive them. This feature is already present in WhatsApp. So you do not need to install any third party apps. Usually if someone isn't the nerd, it won't know that you've archived a personal message.

To try this method, first open your WhatsApp, then hold it for a while on the chat that you want to hide from the eyes of others. If you want, you can select multiple chats at the same time.

After this, now on the top right side you will see the option of archive, click on it. After this your personal chat will be hidden here.

Here's how to view Archive chats

If you want to bring back or see hidden chats, then open WhatsApp, then scroll down, here you will see Archive button. You have to click on Archive to see the chats. Now tap and hold on the chats you want to bring back. After this you have to click on the Unarchive Chat icon, which you will find in the top-right corner of the screen. This way your hidden chats will be back.
