Prime Minister Modi said that under MNREGA, maximum work should be done on water. He said that public, social organizations and civil society will have to be involved as much as possible in water conservation campaigns. Modi said, “When people get involved in any campaign, they also get to know its seriousness.”

It may be noted that the Ministry of Jal Shakti has organized the first All India Annual Conference of State Ministers on the subject related to water in Bhopal on January 5-6. According to the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the theme of this first All India Annual Conference of State Ministers is 'Water Vision@2047'.

Referring to the central government's Atal Ground Water Conservation Scheme for water conservation, the Prime Minister said that it is a sensitive campaign and it needs to be taken forward with equal sensitivity.

He said, 'It is also necessary that the authorities created for groundwater management work strictly in this direction. For groundwater recharge, it is necessary to have water-shed work on a large scale in all the districts. And I would like that maximum work should be done for water in MNREGA.

The Prime Minister said that industry and agriculture are two such sectors, which naturally require a lot of water. He said that a special campaign should be run among the people associated with both these areas to make them aware of water security.

He said, 'Success does not come from the efforts of the government alone. Those who are in the government will have to come out of the thinking that their efforts alone will yield the expected results. That's why public, social organisations, civil society will also have to be involved as much as possible in the campaigns related to water conservation.

25 thousand Amrit Sarovar

PM Modi said that the government is making 75 Amrit Sarovar in every district of the country and in a short time 25 thousand Amrit Sarovars have been built. Modi said that even at the policy level, government policies and bureaucratic procedures have to come out to solve the problems related to water.
