Mumbai Indians joined Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals in the 2019 Indian Premier League playoffs with their Super Over triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. In the last weekend of league games, as many as 3 teams are still in the contention for the last playoff spot.

Over the nex 2 days, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will battle it out for 1 remaining berth in the playoffs. SRH were runners-up in 2018 while KKR and RR had made it to the playoffs. KXIP, after an impressive start last summer, failed to qualify after their 7-wicket loss in Mohali against KKR on Friday night.

Chennai Super and Delhi Capitals have been the most consistent teams of the 2019 IPL and it was no surprise when they became the first two teams to book playoff spots. Mumbai Indians needed to win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede on Thursday and they picked up 2 valuable points after a Super Over thriller.

Had Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerve on Thursday and defeated Mumbai Indians, they would have knocked Rajasthan Royals out but that did not happen. The Royals, 7th in the points table, are still in the fray.

Now it has all come down to the last 4 matches this weekend.

Delhi Capitals will take on Rajasthan Royals in the first match on Saturday. Both teams would be keen to win this. DC, if they win today at the Feroz Shah Kotla, stand a great chance of finishing in the top two. If RR lose, they will be eliminated.

Later on Saturday evening, Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are already eliminated, will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at home. SRH have to win this one. If they lose, KKR will go through to the playoffs if they beat Chennai Super Kings or Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
