New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a post on social media to inform her fans that she has tested negative for COVID-19. Earlier this month, the 'Good Newwz' actress and her BFF Amrita Arora contracted the virus after attending a get-together at filmmaker Karan Johar's home.

Kareena penned a note on her Instagram story, thanking her sister Karisma Kapoor, husband Saif Ali Khan and friends for their support. She expressed her gratitude towards Karisma for being her ‘anchor during this nightmare’. She also lauded Saif for being patient and staying at a hotel, away from his family members when she was observing quarantine.

"I have tested negative for COVID-19. Thank you my darling sister for being our anchor through this nightmare. My BFF Amrita we did this, my darling friends and family, my Poonie, Naina and everyone for praying. My fans for your DMs. The BMC for being so amazing and prompt," the 'Veere Di Wedding' actress wrote.

"And lastly my dear husband for being so patient to be locked in a hotel room... away from his family. Merry Christmas everybody. stay safe," she added.

Kareena had earlier expressed her helplessness over not being able to meet her two kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir. In her new post, she mentioned that she would be kissing her babies like 'never before'.

According to a report in IANS, the BMC had sealed four apartment buildings in Mumbai's Bandra-Khar after Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora tested positive for Coronavirus. Her team issued a statement to clarify that the actress didn't attend multiple parties. According to the statement, the 'Jab We Met' star contracted the virus at a 'private dinner'.

"Kareena has been extremely responsible throughout the lockdown period. She has been careful every time she's stepped out. Unfortunately, this time she and Amrita Arora contracted Covid at an intimate dinner where a few friends had gathered to catch up. It wasn't a big party as was reported. Among that group, there was one person who seemed unwell and was coughing, and who eventually passed it on. This person should have been responsible enough to not attend the dinner and put others at risk," Kareena Kapoor's spokesperson was quoted as saying by ANI.

On the professional front, Kareena will be next seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. The much-awaited film co-starring Aamir Khan will hit the silver screens in April 2022.
