Kia Seltos is breaking all the booking records it seems. The bookings for Seltos had commenced in India on July 16 for an initial amount of Rs 25,000 and within three weeks 23,311 units were booked. Slated to be launched in the country on August 22, Kia Seltos is garnering tremendous response among the customers and the popularity of the upcoming compact SUV can be gauged from the fact the top-spec Seltos GTX Plus DCT already has a waiting period of 8-10 weeks.

Our dealer sources have confirmed that Kia Seltos GTX Plus DCT is the most sought after variant right now and its demand is so high that the waiting period has already reached 8-10 weeks for it. Seltos GTX Plus DCT is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol engine that delivers 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque. The engine is offered with a 7-speed DCT.

Kia Seltos GTX Plus DCT gets features like electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, 8-way driver power seat, Bose premium 8 speaker sound system, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor in cluster LCD and front parking sensors. These are in addition to features such as 10.25-inch HD touchscreen navigation, 7-inch colour display, 8-inch head-up display and ambient mood lighting, among others. The deliveries of Kia Seltos will start on August 22. Expectations are that Kia Seltos price in India will range between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming compact SUV will rival against Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and MG Hector.

Apart from 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol engine, Kia Seltos also gets a 1.5-litre petrol mill and a 1.5-litre VGT diesel motor. The petrol engine makes 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. The diesel powertrain delivers 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Now, all the three engines get a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic options in 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre VGT diesel are IVT and 6-speed AT, respectively. Depending on the engine-transmission combination, the fuel efficiency figures will range between 16 kmpl and 21 kmpl.

Kia Seltos will be available in Tech Line and GT Line variants. The Tech Line trim will have five variants -- HT E, HT K, HT K Plus, HT X and HT X Plus. The GT Line trim will have three variants -- GT K, GT X and GT X Plus. The upcoming compact SUV will have eight monotone and five dual-tone colour options.

Like Hyundai Venue and MG Hector, Kia Seltos will also be a connected vehicle with UVO Connect system having 37 smart features.
