Echoing head coach Ravi Shastri, India captain Virat Kohli said the best Test team in the world should not be judged on the basis of one final, but by the 'best of three finals'.India won the series against Australia and England after coming back from behind, but New Zealand defeated them by 8 wickets in the World Test Championship final.

"I am not in favor of determining the best Test team in the world by a final match," Kohli said in the post-match press conference.

He said, 'If there is a Test series, then only three Tests shows which team has the ability to come back. It doesn't happen that you play well for two days and then suddenly you are not a good Test team. I do not belive it.'

Shastri had talked about the best of three final even before the team left for England. Kohli said, 'It should be considered in the future. In three matches there are efforts, ups and downs, situations change. Opportunity to correct mistakes. After this it is known which is the best team.

He also said that the loss to New Zealand did not depict his team's achievements in two years. “We are not bothered by this result. We have done well in the last three-four years. This match does not depict our ability and ability properly.

The three-match final will be difficult for the ICC in the busy international calendar. Kohli said people should remember that it was a tough series and not just a final.

He said, 'This should be discussed. Not because we couldn't win, but for Test cricket this saga should be memorable.
