Make way for Aamir Khan's upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha (a remake of 1994 Hollywood classic Forrest Gump), which will hit the screens on Christmas, next year. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the release date of the adaptation.

"Mark the date... Aamir Khan's new film #LaalSinghChaddha to release on #Christmas 2020... Stars Aamir in title role... Directed by Advait Chandan... Written by Atul Kulkarni... #Viacom18Movies," the tweet reads.

However, the Thugs of Hindostan actor, who will step into the shoes of Hollywood actor Tom Hanks in Hindi adaptation, will be clashing with Hrithik Roshan at the box office.

According to Rakesh Roshan's tweet in January 2018, Hrithik's upcoming film Krrish 4 will also be released on the same date, i.e. December 25, 2020. The fourth part of the Krrish franchise was announced on micro-blogging website on Hrithik's birthday.

Aamir Khan, on the other hand, has been prepping for his role in Forrest Gump remake. The 54-year-old actor, who believes in getting into the skin of the character as per the script 's demand in films like PK, Ghajini, Dangal, earlier revealed that he will lose 20 kg for young Laal Singh Chaddha.

"I play a young man in the film, so I need to lose 20 kg. I have already lost three and a half kilos in two weeks," the actor said.

Talking about the shoot location for the upcoming film, Aamir earlier said, "We are still on a recce for it, but it will be in India, Punjab, all the North side."

The actor also revealed that his Rang De Basanti co-star Atul Kulkarni, who has written the script of Laal Singh Chaddha,shared the idea of the adaptation during the shoot of 2006 released film.

"During Rang De Basanti shoot, Atul had shared that Forrest Gump is one of his favourite movies. He approached me with adaptation script later on but I did not take him seriously. I read the script after two and a half years and loved it. After that, I went behind taking the right of the movie," added Aamir Khan.

The film will be directed by filmmaker Advait Chandan, who has earlier worked with the actor in Secret Superstar (2017).

On the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in Thugs Of Hindostan (2018), which was a massive failure at the box office.
