Coronavirus / Lockdown to continue in Punjab for 2 weeks, relaxation from 7 am to 11 am daily

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced that the lockdown and curfew will continue in the state for two weeks. He added that people will be allowed to come out of their houses from 7 am to 11 am daily and the shops will remain open during that time. He further advised everyone to follow social distancing norms.

Chandigarh: Punjab government on Wednesday announced a four-hour relaxation in the curfew imposed in wake of novel coronavirus outbreak.

Making the announcement, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that curfew will be relaxed between 7 am and 11 am so that people can start their industrial work.

He also announced that the lockdown, as well as curfew, will continue for the next two weeks. The nationwide lockdown is slated to end on May 3.

Based on future developments, more relaxation can be announced, the Punjab CM said.

As per the Union Health Ministry data, Punjab has registered 322 cases of Covid-19. AT least 19 people have died due to virus in the state and 71 have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
