Lok Sabha / Lok Sabha Election 2019 : 26.69% voter turnout till 11 am, Bengal highest at 33.63%

Lok Sabha election 2019 Phase 5 updates: Nine crore voters across 51 constituencies will decide the fate of 674 candidates. The Phase 5 of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will see political heavyweights Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi fight to protect family bastions Amethi and Raebareli. On the other hand are BJP bigwigs Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani who will also be testing their fates from Lucknow and Amethi.


Voting will take place in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Rajasthan, seven seats each in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, five in Bihar and four in Jharkhand. In Jammu and Kashmir, polling will take place in Ladakh constituency and Pulwama and Shopian districts of Anantnag seat.


BJP candidate from Hooghly, Locket Chatterjee spoke to India Today TV and alleged poll rigging by the TMC. She said, "The state government is using their police to rig polls. Polls are being rigged in the Dhaniyakhali area...I will ask for repolling."


Bihar : 20.74 per cent

Jammu and Kashmir : 6.09 per cent

Madhya Pradesh : 27.57 per cent

Rajasthan : 29.35 per cent

Uttar Pradesh : 22.51 per cent

West Bengal : 33.63 per cent

Jharkhand : 29.49 per cent


Total: 26.69 per cent


EC has removed the presiding officer of Booth Number 110 of Nashkarpur village under Talpur anchal of Tarakeshwar. This was done after a Trinamool local leader Maharaja Nag accompanied a voter up to the EVM and pressed the button instead of the voter. The incident happened in Arambagh Lok Sabha seat.
