Bhopal: In a bizarre incident, a 64-year-old man allegedly stitched the private parts of his 55-year-old wife using a needle and a thread at a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district. The sexagenarian, as per reports, suspected that wife was having an extramarital affair.

After the incident, the 55-year-old woman approached a female police officer and lodged a complaint against her husband. The complainant was then referred to a state-run medical facility, where the stitches were removed. “He [accused] had used a local thread and needle. She has suffered minor injuries. We have confiscated the needle and the thread,” a report by The Times of India quoted a police officer as saying.

The police have registered a case against the 64-year-old accused, who is a quack, under relevant sections, including those for physical and mental harassment, the TOI report stated. The complainant has, however, has asked the police to not take harsh action against her husband, an officer said. Efforts are underway to nab the accused, the officer added.

India Today reported the accused often had arguments with his wife. He suspected that his wife was having an affair with a man from their village. He used to thrash her.

This comes days after Aa 30-year-old businessman allegedly battered his 28-year-old wife to death with a wooden log at their residence in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, reportedly after she turned down his demand to make chicken fry for him.

Shirin Banu (28), a mother of three children, was reported missing since August 18 night. Her parents had lodged a missing complaint with the police. Subsequently, the police sprang up in action to find the missing woman. While the investigation were underway, the missing woman's husband, Mubarak Pasha, along with his lawyer, arrived at the police station and confessed that he had murdered her and dumped her body in Chikkabanavara Lake.
