Mumbai: Television actor Samay Shah, best known for his role as 'Gogi' in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', was on Tuesday, October 27, mugged by an unknown man, following which the actor filed a police complaint.

The said incident which took place outside his Borivali residence isn't the first time that the actor has had an upsetting experience like this.

In an exclusive telephonic interaction with DNA, the actor, while revealing that the same man had earlier visited his apartment twice, opened up about the incident.

Speaking about what transpired on October 27, when the unknown man accompanied by a few others visited his Borivali residence and constantly kept abusing him and threatening to kill him, Samay Shah told DNA, "This is the third time such an incident has taken place. The guy, I don't know who he is and I have no clue what was the reason behind this, visited my apartment complex looking for me. He asked my watchman about my whereabouts. Meanwhile, I happened to return from one of my shoots. He saw me and started abusing me. He said 'kaat dalunga tujhe, dekh lena kya karega (I will cut you into pieces). I was completely taken aback with what transpired because I have no personal issues with anyone. I am completely blank and clueless right now."

Samay added, "I am giving this information to all those who love me, my fans because I think it would be better for me and my family if God forbid something happens."

The actor also mentioned that besides the above-stated reason, his intention behind disclosing this news was to make sure that these men don't try to put out an alternate version stating that he was misbehaving with his fans. Samay said, "I treat my fans very kindly and I know how to respect them. Therefore, I wanted to make sure that the truth is out."

On being asked if he has filed a police complaint, the actor replied in the affirmative.

"I have filed a police complaint," Samay confirmed.

Earlier, on Thursday, Samay took to his Instagram stories to put out the information for his fans. Alongside a screenshot of the unknown man taken from CCTV footage of his apartment complex, Samay wrote, "This man came in my building two days back, started abusing me for no reason, I have no idea who is he? What was reason behind abusing me? He was also giving me a threat that I will kill you. I am giving this information to all those who love me because I think it would be better for me and my family if something happens. Thankyou (sic).”
