The income tax department is said to have adopted at least six different 'out of the ordinary' methods to recover tax dues. The income tax department this year also used rare provision to collect dues directly from company's bank accounts. Every year in March, income tax department chases tax collections in order to fulfil targets for financial year. The direct tax collection target for fiscal year 2019 ₹12 trillion.
