India / Odisha reports 3,252 new COVID-19 cases, total tally reaches 97,920

Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 positive cases in Odisha rose to 97,920 with the detection of 3252 new cases in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Saturday.

Death toll due to coronavirus increased to 470 as fourteen more people from the state have succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

Two deaths each reported from Balasore, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Malkangiri district and Bhubaneswar one each from Bargarh, Jajpur, Sundergarh and Puri districts.

Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1987 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1265 are local contacts.

Khordha recorded highest 762 cases followed by Rayagada (450), Cuttack (332) and Ganjam (169).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 29,571.   As many as 67,826 patients have recovered so far.
