The espionage attempt comes amid rumors of the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. An employee of Bani Gala was trying to install spy equipment in Khan's room. According to the report, this employee was given money to install equipment in the bedroom of the former prime minister. However, another employee passed the information to the security team, after which the spying attempt was foiled.

The Bani Gala security team detained the employee after receiving information that he was trying to spy on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. The security team handed him over to the federal police. The development comes amid rumors of a conspiracy to assassinate former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Earlier, security agencies were put on high alert in the vicinity of Bani Gala in the city in view of the perceived threat.

PTI leaders saying threat to Imran Khan's life

Many people in PTI are claiming that Imran Khan's life is in danger. PTI leader Shahbaz Gill said that in this regard we have informed all the concerned agencies including the government. Gill claimed, "The employee cleans the former PM's room. He was paid to install spy equipment. This is heinous and unfortunate. Our people are being threatened to get information. Such shameful Antics should be avoided. The 'arrested' employee has made many revelations, which cannot be shared at the moment."

'If something happens to Imran Khan...'

Home Minister Rana Sanaullah had earlier on June 23 dismissed claims of threats to kill Imran Khan. The Interior Minister said that there is no threat warning against Imran Khan. Imran Khan is being offered security and protocol at the same level as when he was the Prime Minister. Earlier, Imran Khan's nephew Hassan Niazi said that if anything happens to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, the act will be considered an attack on Pakistan.
