New Delhi: The central government has intensified preparations amid fears of the third wave of Corona. PM Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting on Friday regarding the availability of medical oxygen in the country and ordered 1,500 oxygen plants to be set up. These plants will be set up in different parts of the country. In this meeting, PM Modi asked the officials to ensure that they work as soon as possible. Along with this, in the meeting, PM Modi also emphasized on giving necessary training to the hospital staff for the operation and maintenance of the oxygen plant.

Funding of these oxygen plants will be done from PM Cares Fund. This will help in creating 4 lakh oxygen beds in the country. At the same time, there was a shortage of medical oxygen, ventilator beds etc. in all the cities of the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that governments should use new technology so that the functioning of oxygen plants can be monitored at the local and national level.
