Special | A man from Saudi Arabia has made a 'record' of getting married 53 times in 43 years. He has also given the reason for marrying so much. The man says that he went on getting married in search of peace. The man claims that he has married 53 times with the aim of finding 'stability' and peace of mind, not personal happiness. Abu Abdullah, 63, has been called the "most married man in a century". "I married 53 women over a long period of time. I was 20 when I first married and she (wife) was six years older than me," Abdullah told Saudi-owned television MBC.

"When I got married for the first time, I had no plans to marry more than one woman. Because then I felt comfortable and I had children," he said. However, after a few years, there were problems in the relationship and Abdullah decided to get married again at the age of 23. He told his first wife about his decision. When there was a dispute between his first and second wives, Abdullah decided to marry for the third and fourth time. He later divorced his first two wives.

Abdullah said that the simple reason for his many marriages was to find a woman who could keep him happy. He said that he tried his best to be fair to all his wives. Abdullah said that the shortest marriage lasted only one night. Although 63-year-old Abdullah married mostly Saudi women, he has admitted to marrying foreign women during his business trip abroad.

"I lived for three to four months. So I got married to protect myself from evil," he said. He added, "Every man in the world wants to be a woman and she should always be with her. Stability is not to be found with a young woman, but with an older one." He is now married to a woman and has no plans to get married next.
