Jharkhand: Her parents and uncle-aunt have been sentenced to death by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge I Ramashankar Singh in the case of honor killing of a girl in Koderma. The case is about the murder of a young woman in a love affair with a second caste youth. In a hearing on 15 March this month, the court found all guilty of murder and concealing evidence. The four convicts have been in jail since the incident.

The escaped daughter was called by bluffing

Soni Kumari (20), daughter of Kishun Saw, a resident of Madangundi in Chandwara police station area, was in love with a young man from another caste and wanted to get married. The girl's parents did not agree to this. Soni later fled the house with her boyfriend. About 15 days later, Soni's father Kishun Saw called her daughter, calling her daughter to marry her lover. The girl returned home at the behest of her father. Then, the parents explained a lot to the girl about not getting married for the sake of an alien marriage, but Soni did not agree and she was adamant on marrying the same boy.

Strangled to death on 25 August 2018

Father Kishan Sahu, mother Dulari Devi, uncle Sitaram Sahu, aunt Parvati Devi strangled Soni Kumari on the night of 25 August 2018. They were taken to the crematorium in the morning and were trying to burn the dead body. Then the police got the information. Shivani Tiwari, the then SP of the district, sent the Chandwara police to the spot and took the body and started an investigation. Ax and kerosene oil were recovered from the scene.

Mother and aunt hold both hands, uncle feet, father strangles

The four were murdered by the girl together. Maa Dulari Devi and Aunt Parvati Devi held the girl's hands. The uncle strangled him to death and his father. The police did not get the information of the incident, so took the girl's body on the cot and took it to the crematorium. The dead body was about to be lit on the pyre that in the meantime someone gave information to the police.

Verdict after testimony of 16 people

During the hearing, 16 witnesses from the prosecution were testified in the court. The elder sister of the deceased also testified. After the trial of the witnesses, the arguments of both the sides were heard and on March 15, the court had found the accused guilty and sentenced them for hearing on 25 March. Today, the four convicts were sentenced to be hanged during the trial by video conferencing.
