Patiala: Students of the Forensic Science Department of Punjabi University have researched cosmetic creams to make it easier to investigate rape and sexual assault with women. This will make the investigation in the case related to rape easy and evidence will be gathered against the accused.

Under the supervision of Supervisor Dr. Rajinder Singh, Sweety Sharma, Rito Chofi, Harkmalpreet Kaur, and PhD students Rajinder have presented a research paper on Cosmetic Foundation Cream. This research paper has been released by the American Forensic Academy, General of Forensic Science.

Women use cosmetics and lipsticks. When there is rape and sexual assault against them, the cream or lipstick applied by the women falls on the perpetrator. The lipstick or cream applied to the victim and the accused is combined with ATR, STIR spectroscopy technique and if both are found to be of the same brand, it will become important evidence in the investigation.

With this technique, the test will be completed in 2 to 3 minutes and the sample will never go bad. At the same time, Research has presented research papers on Kajal in which Kajal will be transferred on the body of the rapist and the investigation will find out which brand Kajal is in the body of the accused and the victim. Research scholar Sweety Sharma said that this technology is non-destructive. The sample will never go bad and this sample can be used whenever you want. The samples used to be destroyed earlier.
