The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Thursday that NBFCs with asset size of more than Rs. 5,000 crore should appoint a chief risk officer (CRO), in a move seen tightening regulation in the shadow banking sector.
At 9:19 am, the Sensex traded 62.80 points - or 0.17 per cent - higher at 37,456.28 while the Nifty was up 14.60 points - or 0.13 per cent - at 11,271.70.
Top gainers on the 50-scrip benchmark index at the time were Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Bajaj Finance, trading between 1.23 per cent and 3.38 per cent higher.
