Jammu and Kashmir / Soldier killed, 3 injured in ceasefire violation in J&K’s Rajouri district

An Army soldier was killed in cease violation by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday. Pakistani forces resorted to firing from small arms and shelling mortars in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district. A soldier was martyred and three others were injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan. Indian Army retaliated effectively and the firing stopped at 0715 hours.

An Army soldier was killed in cease violation by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday.

Pakistani forces resorted to firing from small arms and shelling mortars in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

“A soldier was martyred and three others were injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Keri Battal area of Akhnoor this morning,” said an Army source.

Earlier, Defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand had said that at around 5.30 am, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of small arms along LoC in Sunderbani Sector.

He said Indian Army retaliated effectively and the firing stopped at 0715 hours.

Earlier, on 6:30 pm on Sunday Pakistani troops violated ceasefire triggering a strong response from the Indian Army. This came after Pakistan on Wednesday violated ceasefire in Poonch sector of the state.

Earlier, Pakistani Rangers also initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Chakkan da Bagh crossing point where the Line of Control trade centre is located.
