District and Sessions Judge Uttam Anand died in a road accident in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The incident took place at Randhir Verma Chowk in the city, where an auto hit him badly and then fled the spot. The police have got the CCTV footage of the incident, in which an auto can be seen hitting them.

After the accident, the local people admitted him to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital, where he died during treatment. He was a resident of Hazaribagh. His father and brother are advocates in the Hazaribagh court while his two brothers-in-law are IAS officers. The police is probing the matter from the angle of both murder and accident.

As soon as the information of this incident was received, Principal District and Sessions Judge Ram Sharma, District and Sessions Judge Arvind Kumar Pandey, Chief Judicial Magistrate Arjun Sao and all the judicial officers of the district and the relatives of the deceased reached the hospital.

On the information of the incident, top officials of the district administration including SSP, SP, Dhanbad reached the spot and started investigation. At present, nothing is known about the auto that hit the car. There is a demand for a CBI inquiry into the matter. A CCTV footage of this incident has surfaced, in which it is clearly visible how an auto hit the judge and left the place.

Justice Uttam Anand took over as the judge of Dhanbad only six months ago. Prior to this he was the District and Sessions Judge of Bokaro. It is being told that as usual, he used to leave his house at 5 in the morning for morning walk.

Meanwhile, an auto coming from opposite direction hit him at New Judge Colony turn in front of Randhir Verma Chowk. Seeing the suffering on the road, a passerby named Pawan Pandey took him to the hospital for treatment in an injured condition, where he died during treatment.

Uttam Anand was hearing the famous Ranjay murder case. Ranjay Singh was considered very close to Sanjeev Singh, the Bahubali leader of Dhanbad and former MLA of Jharia. A few days ago, he had rejected the bail plea of ​​shooter Abhinav Singh and Aman's henchman Ravi Thakur. It is feared that he was murdered in the Ranjay Singh murder case itself.
