These veterans got a place in the selection committee

5 veterans have been given place in India's senior selection committee (men). It also includes Chetan Sharma who was already the head of the selection committee. Apart from them, Shiv Sundar Das, Subrata Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sreedharan Sarat are included in this committee. According to the statement issued by the BCCI, the board had received about 600 applications for this.

Made debut against Pakistan

Salil Ankola, 54, is a tall medium pacer who played one Test and 20 ODIs for India. He took only 2 wickets in his only Test match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989. He also made his ODI debut against Pakistan in 1989. In his first ODI on 18 December, he bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets. Then Kris Srikkanth was handling the command of Team India. Ankola has 13 wickets in ODIs. In his first class career, he took 181 wickets and scored a total of 707 runs with the help of one half-century. He was made the Chief Selector of Mumbai Cricket in 2020.

Worked in TV and Films

Salil Ankola then moved away from the cricket field and turned to the world of TV but he could not be that successful. He had said goodbye to international cricket at the age of 28. He made his debut in the film world with the film Kurukshetra. After this he worked in films like Father, Chura Liya Hai Tumne. Not only this, he also participated in the first season of Bigg Boss. Then Karam appeared in Apna-Apna TV show. After that he shh… koi hai and Kora appeared in the paper.

There was a dispute with Balaji Films

Then due to a dispute with Balaji Films, his TV career was also on the verge of ending. After many years, he again acted in TV programs Savitri, Rivayat, Savdhaan India and Karmphal Daata Shani. He was also seen in the 2018 film Tera Intezaar, Ekta in 2019, The Power in 2021 but all these films could not do as well at the box office. The Power was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
