An Emirati woman in her early 20s filed for divorce from her husband because he denied her from playing the online game, PUBG.

Director of the Social Centre at Ajman Police, Captain Wafa Khalil who was handling the case told Gulf News, "The woman justified her demand for divorce by saying that she was being deprived of her right to chose her means of entertainment as she derived pleasure and comfort from the game."

Captain Al Hosani said that it was one of the most bizarre cases that they had received in regard to the online game.

The woman came to the police station looking for help after a fight about the game became violent between the couple.

In the report, Captain Al Hosani said, "It was well within limits, she said, adding that she had not activated the chat option where she would be exposed to strangers and was playing the game only with her friends and relatives."

In the entire scenario, the main reason behind the husband stopping his wife to play the game was, he feared that she would soon become addicted to the game and as result neglect her duties as a wife.

However, he also said that denying his wife to play the game had nothing to do with the matter of suppression of freedom but, his effort to keep his family together. He told the police that he never thought things would take such a turn, with his wife asking for a divorce.
