Business / Uber not alone in facing US probe for India ‘graft’

Companies based and listed in the US are coming under scrutiny over allegations that they’ve been paying bribes to officials in India. Cab aggregator Uber disclosed in its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus last week that US Department of Justice (DoJ) is investigating the company for “improper payments” made in India. Combating corruption remains an important government mission, including at SEC’s division.
