New Delhi : First, the CBI raided the house of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, now the names of two more party leaders have been linked to it. When the Enforcement Directorate had already interrogated the jailed Health Minister Satyendar Jain in another case, on Monday it was the turn of Durgesh Pathak, who became MLA after winning the by-election from Rajendra Nagar seat three months ago. After the ED summons, the MLA appeared before the central probe agency.

AAP called it a political matter and linked the summons to Durgesh to the MCD elections. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "Today ED has summoned AAP's MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak. What has our MCD election incharge got to do with Delhi government's liquor policy? Is their target liquor policy or MCD elections? They have nothing to do with excise policy. Still, the ED has summoned him for summons.

However, sources say that MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak has been called to investigate the alleged links with Vijay Nair, who has been accused in the liquor policy case. The investigating agency has also recovered Pathak's mobile phone and other electronic devices. Sources said Pathak was present at Vijay Nair's house in Mumbai when the ED carried out the raids earlier this month. Only after this he also came on the radar of the investigating agency.

CBI's FIR Manish Sisodia has been made accused number one in connection with the liquor scam, while Vijay Nair's name is also included in the list of accused. Last week, the ED had raided 40 places. Prior to that, on September 6, the investigating agency had searched 45 locations in several states including Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, Haryana. Taking cognizance of the FIR registered by the CBI, the ED had also started investigation. The FIR states that Nair was actively involved in irregularities along with some others. According to the FIR, Vijay Nair is the only accused who is neither associated with politics, nor a bureaucrat nor a liquor businessman. According to media reports, Nair is a businessman and former CEO of an event management company.
