T20 World Cup 2022:  There is still doubt about Bumrah playing in the T20 World Cup.

Which injury to Bumrah?

28-year-old Bumrah has been off the field due to a back stress fracture which is a sports injury. He was out of the team even before this due to many different types of injuries. In the year 2018 he suffered a thumb injury while in 2019 also he was out of the team due to stress fracture. In August this year, he suffered a back injury and had to undergo rehab for almost a month at the NCA in Bangalore.

What is stress fracture after all?

Sometimes players get minor fractures in the bones. According to a report by WebMD, this crack in the bones occurs due to running or repeated stress. However, it is very painful, which takes at least 4-6 months or more to recover. If not treated at the right time, this problem can become more serious. Many players even do surgery because of this.

Ganguly gave an update

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly gave an update on Bumrah's injury. Ganguly said, 'Jasprit Bumrah is not out of the T20 World Cup yet. There is still some time for the tournament to start. A day earlier, PTI had reported quoting BCCI officials that Bumrah would be able to return to the field after getting fit in at least six months.

Bumrah made his debut in the year 2016. He made a lot of headlines due to his unique bowling action. Many people were surprised when they saw him bowling the yorker in the IPL. Bumrah has played 30 Tests, 72 ODIs and 60 T20 Internationals so far. He has 128 wickets in Tests, 121 in ODIs and 70 wickets in T20 International format.
