New Delhi: A 43-year-old woman and her friend have been arrested for allegedly killing her husband after a quarrel in Delhi. The incident took place in Alipur area of ​​outer Delhi on Saturday. Accused Sangeeta and her friend Nikhil John aka Rinku have been arrested on Monday.

Police said on Wednesday that a day after the incident, Sangeeta complained to the police that her husband Phula Ray was missing since Saturday. The deceased used to sell Fula Ray vegetable. Sangeeta told the police on Monday that Fula's body was found in a crematorium in Khampur village in north-west Delhi.

The police team rushed to the scene and saw the bruises on the body. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer-North) Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that it seemed that the body was two days old and the body started to rot.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Fula Ray had been in a matrimonial relationship with a woman named Rekha for 12 years before meeting Sangeeta. She has three children from her first marriage. Later, after coming to Delhi, he started living with Sangeeta, who was divorced. The two got married in 2017.

It is later revealed that Rekha has come to Delhi with her children and Fula Ray leaves Sangeeta. Rekha told the police that Sangeeta had a fight with Phula Ray before the incident. The police then combed the CCTV footage and extracted their call records. The DCP said that after detailed questioning, he confessed to the crime.
