Karur Stampede: Actor and politician Vijay announced compensation, saying, 'My heart and mind are deeply saddened.'

Karur Stampede: 39 people have died so far in a stampede during a rally by actor and politician Vijay in Karur district, Tamil Nadu. Nine children and more than 16 women are among the dead. Nearly 70 people were injured in this tragic accident. Following this horrific incident, Vijay has announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured.

Vijay Announces Compensation

Vijay has announced financial assistance of ₹20 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives in the stampede and ₹2 lakh each for the injured. He shared an emotional message on social media, saying:

"Greetings to all those who are dear to my heart. My heart and mind are deeply saddened by what happened in Karur yesterday. In this extremely tragic situation, I am at a loss to express the pain of losing my loved ones. My eyes and mind are filled with sorrow. The faces of all of you whom I have met come to my mind. My heart is even more saddened by the thought of those of my own people whom I have lost, who showed me affection and love."

"This loss is immeasurable."

Vijay expressed his deepest condolences in his statement, saying:

• "My relatives, while expressing my deepest condolences to all of you who have lost your loved ones, I share this profound grief with you. This is a loss that we cannot compensate. No matter who consoles us, we cannot bear the loss of our loved ones. Nevertheless, as a member of your family, I would like to donate Rs. 20 lakh each to the families of all those who have lost their loved ones and Rs. 2 lakh each to those who are suffering, and to those who are injured and undergoing treatment."

He continued:

• "This is not a large sum compared to this loss. However, at this time, as a member of your family, it is my duty to stand with you, my relatives, wholeheartedly. I also pray to God that all the relatives who are injured and undergoing treatment recover soon and return home. I also assure you that our Tamil Nadu Vettri Kagamagan will provide all possible assistance to all our relatives undergoing treatment. With God's grace, we will try to make everything right."
